RAYNHAM – Mildred Maxine “Micki” (Norris) Englund, the former wife of Warren D. Englund, died peacefully at her Raynham home on Jan. 30, 2009.
She was 78.
Born in Sandyville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Belva (Campbell) Norris Wanat and the late Thomas “Verle” Norris.
Educated in Iowa schools, she was a graduate of Indianola High School.
She later resided in Boston and Bridgewater, before moving to Raynham, where she lived for the past 45 years.
She was employed by Wheaton College for over 35 years, most recently as the assistant to the director of security.
A former member of the League of Women Voters, she served on the boards of both the Raynham Historical Society, and the Raynham Public Library.
An avid reader, she was a member of the Raynham Public Library Book Club.
She also enjoyed sports, especially auto racing and football.
Besides her mother of Taunton and former husband of Matapoisett, she leaves a son, Paul Englund and his partner Sally Rubinoff of Brookline; 4 daughters, Lori St. Arnold and her husband Dean of Taunton, Lesli Englund Sewell and her husband Blaine of Norton, Lisa Santiago and her husband David of Raynham, Sira Jo Englund of Raynham, and their half-siblings, Kayma Englund of NY, and Davis Englund of Mattapoisett.
Also surviving are 2 brothers, Ronald Norris of Andover and Kevin Norris of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the loving grandmother of Lindsey, Christopher, Matthew, Tyler Jo, Jayden, Nadine, Jennifer, Isabel, Jason, and Gianna.
Also loved and of great importance, were Karen Simpson of E. Taunton, Pamela Griffin of Attleboro and others.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Feb. 5th at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Pleasant St. Cemetery, Raynham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4th, from 5 to 8 p.m.
