Maria Augusta (Sousa) Viveiros, age 96, of Somerset and previously of Fall River. Passed away Feb. 1, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose Cabral Viveiros. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of the late Joao Inacio & Silvana Augusta (Pereira) de Sousa. Prior to retiring in 1976, Maria worked as a Seamstress for 10 years at Beacon Garment Mfg. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church & a member of the Holy Rosary Society.
She is survived by 3 children: Fernando Cabral of Fall River, Anna da Ponte and Isabel Pacheco both of Somerset. 2 sisters: Isabel Barbosa and Lucilia Cabral both of Fall River. 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Joaquim Cabral and sister of the late Merces, Manuel Inacio, & Armando Sousa.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. WEDNESDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Wake TUESDAY 5-9 P.M.
