Virginia Ann Murphy, known affectionately as “Ginny” passed away at her home in Medford early Saturday morning following a lengthy illness. The wife of Charles “Tim” Murphy, she was sixty years old.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Mary Teresa (Ippolito) and Salvatore Amato. Ginny was a lifelong Medford resident, and a graduate of Medford High School. She shared a particularly close relationship with all her family and was dedicated to her faith. Ginny enjoyed traveling with Tim and taking day trips to Maine to visit friends. Untill her illness she has been employed for over thirty years with Time Warner.
Surviving in addition to her husband Tim, is her daughter,Virginia Levesque of Medford. Her grand daughter Cassandra Pappalardo of Medford. A brother Michael J. Amato and his wife Mary of Cambridge, two sisters, Marie Capillo of Peabody, Joanne Milane and her husband Joseph of Attleboro. Also many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, May 28 at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St. Medford, at 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 4 thru 8.
