Deerfield, NH- John H. “Jack” Ellis, 82, formally of Methuen, MA, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Ellis in Deerfield, NH.
Jack was born in Lawrence, MA to John O. and Mildred M. (Heuby). He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1944 and then attended Colby College in Waterville, ME. John was a part of the Army Air Corps. and served during World War II. Upon his return, Jack ran Ellis Lumber Co. in Lawrence and later worked at Doyle Lumber Co. in Andover.
The widower of Claire Ellis, who died in 2001, Jack is survived by his children, John S. and his wife Jenny Stirling of Burlington, MA, David B. and Sheila Ellis with whom he resided, and Daniel and Laurie Lavigne of Amesbury, MA. Mr. Ellis is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua Ellis, Katherine Stirling-Ellis, Daniel Jr. and Alexander Lavigne. John was pre-deceased by his daughter Kathleen Ann Ellis
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and Friends may call on Monday, February 2, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Methuen, MA 01844. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 9 AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
