Lucy A. (Imperato) Erickson, 85, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 61 years, Robert Erickson, died on January 11th. She leaves two sons, Robert J. Erickson and his wife, Noreen, and Kenneth D. Erickson and his former wife, Gina; four grandchildren, Heather, Robert II, David, and Bryan; and many nieces & nephews and their families. She was predeceased by two brothers, Phil and Tommy Imperato and three sisters, Mary Imperato, Margaret Uras, and Josephine Graziano—all of New York.
Born in New York City, Lucy was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela (Esposito) Imperato. She attended NY schools and was a graduate of Washington Irving High School, NYC. Lucy proudly donated several of her immigrant-parents belongings to the Ellis Island Museum that are still on display. She was a member and founder of St. Christopher Church as well as Our Lady of Fatima Church. Lucy was a member of the former Guild of Our Lady of the Summit and the Retired Club of St. Christopher’s Church. She was the past Pro-Life Coordinator of the parish and co-chaired the monthly food drive. She was a member of Central Mass Citizens for Life, the AARP, the Auxiliary of West Boylston VFW #6907, and the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Apostolate.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, February 1. The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 2, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
