Douglas Thomas Olsen, 69, of Ladson, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at his residence.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11 o’clock at Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will be private.

Doug was born October 2, 1939 in Elmhurst, IL, son of the late Arthur Olsen and Augusta Schacht Olsen. He was formerly married to Lois Johnson. He attended York High School in Villa Park, IL. He enjoyed going to Azalea Park, going to church, studying his family history and reading. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Ingraham 694. He retired from E.J. McCarthy & Sons. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

1 Daughter: Susan D. Dellucci (Ben) of North Charleston
7 Grandchildren: Krista Mendez of North Charleston, Michael Nanni of Summerville, Diandra Thornhill of Goose Creek, Carolina Crites of North Charleston, Amelia Olsen, Allyson Olsen and Ashton Olsen of Columbia, SC.
4 Great Grandsons: Andrew, Troy, Tony and Kristopher all of North Charleston
1 Brother: Albert Olsen of Illinois
1 Sister: Beverly Frappier of Illinois
He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Olsen and his 2 sisters Audrey Gallagher and Myrna Frappier.
