Also survived by 9 grandchildren.

Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 9 a.m. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15 am. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 pm. Obituary Information
Mr. O’Leary died Wednesday evening at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Daniel J. and Marjorie H. (Buckley) O’Leary. He attended Brockton Schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1954. He was known best as one of Brockton’s athletic champions, he was considered one of the best high school legion and semi pro shortstops in the region. Also well known in regional basketball circles for decades and was an outstanding guard and the co-captain of the 1954 BHS Tech Tourney Championship team at Boston Garden. After graduation he entered the military serving in the US Army Medical Corp. during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the 1955 Army European Championship baseball team. He was a well known banker with several financial institutions most notably the Plymouth Home National Bank of Brockton. He also was affiliated with several fraternal organizations such as the Brockton Rotary Club and served on Brockton Municipal Boards including the Traffic Commission, Brockton School Building Committee and the Commonwealth of Mass State Board of Retirement. Retired from the State Retirement System in 1998. He enjoyed tennis, walks on the beach, walking his dog and Cape League baseball games.
Survived by his wife Mary E. (O’Connell) O’Leary and his former wife Sandra Pitta Cole, 2 sons Dennis J. O’Leary, Jr. and his wife Agnetha and Jack Timmins, 4 daughters Brenda “Hope” O’Leary, AnnMarie Orticerio and her husband Ernest, Debra Luongo and her husband Thomas and Kelly Timmins, a brother Danny Brian O’Leary and 9 grandchildren.
