Obituary

Marie Anne Cecile Tondre, 70, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Scituate, died Sunday at home. She was the wife of Daniel F. Tondre.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Marie Alice (Berube) Roleau. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Johnston for over 20 years and in Scituate for several years before moving to Spring Hill 9 years ago.
While living in Johnston she was a communicant of St. Rocco’s Church, in Scituate she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, and while living in Florida she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Mrs. Tondre was blessed with a beautiful voice and had a profound love of music. She served in music ministry at her parishes. She sang with the Boston Pops in Providence under the direction of the late Arthur Fiedler.
Mrs. Tondre was a member of the Kiros Prison Ministry in Spring Hill.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by four sons, Marc Tondre of Norwich, CT, Jean Tondre (RI State Police) of Wakefield, Eugene Tondre of West Palm, FL, and Daniel H. Tondre of Plant City FL., a daughter, Anne Marie, and her husband, Dr. Charles Lerner, of FL. She was the mother of the late David Tondre. She is the sister of Jeannine Becton of Lake Park, GA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Slatersville, Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
