Obituary

THOMPSON, MAXEY "MACK," 84, of Louisville died Sunday, January 25, 2009 with his family by his side.
Maxey was born April 29, 1924 at Cub Run, Hart Co., KY, the fifth of seven children born to Lee Thompson and Luellen Merideth. In Louisville he married Mary Lou Parker. Mr. Thompson worked for over 37 years as a joiner and supervisor at the old Chess and Wymond Cooperage Company and later worked for Lanham Lumber as a security guard. In the early 1940s he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, working in Wyoming. Until recently he also farmed in the Upton, KY area. He was a member of Pine Grove Church in Hart County.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee, in 1934, his mother, Lue in 1995, sister, Lola, in 1967, and brothers, Owen in 1985, Otto in 2001, and Lewis in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Thompson; a daughter, Lou Kinser, of Shepherdsville, KY; a son, Charles R. "Chuck" Thompson; two grandsons, Shawn Kinser (Dee) of Fisherville, KY and David Kinser, of Shepherdsville; two great granddaughters, Alexandria, and Olivia Kinser; a sister, Dorothy Thornton, of Louisville; a brother, Clint Thompson (Zella) of Munfordville, KY; many nieces and nephews, and his pet dog Maggie.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Sonora Cemetery, Sonora, KY.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Tuesday.
