Margaret Kirkland
...Of Tewksbury, formerly of Cambridge, age 88
TEWKSBURY- Margaret Kirkland, died peacefully Sunday morning January 25th, at the Blaire House in Tewksbury. She was born in Boston on April 7, 1920 the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Breen) Kirkland. She was raised in Cambridge and lived there the majority of her life. During WWII she worked in Cambridge as a machinist. She later worked at Myerson Tooth Corp. of Cambridge for over 30 years.
Margaret was an avid red sox fan. She loved animals and attending church. She taught Sunday school and belonged to the Women's Guild at the Pilgrim Congregational Church of Cambridge.
She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law; Marion Hesketh and her husband Stanley of Tewksbury, a brother and sister-in-law; Frederick and his wife Annette Kirkland of Melrose. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins including Phylis Benoit of Allentown, NJ.
Her memorial service will be Thursday January 29 at 10 a.m. in The First Congregational Church of Somerville, 89 College Ave., Somerville, MA 02144. Memorial contributions to the church or MSPCA-Angell Att: Donations, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130, will be appreciated. Arrangements by the Tewksbury Funeral Home.
