Monique R. (Stumm) Vass, 68 of Franklin died January 24 in Caritas Norwood Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of John L. Vass.
Born in Manhattan, New York, February 23, 1940, the daughter of Aurette (Duphily) Stumm of North Smithfield, Rhode Island and the late Philip Stumm, Mrs. Vass was raised in New York and Central Falls, Rhode Island and lived in Franklin since 1963.
Mrs. Vass had been the manager of the Hallmark card store in Franklin for many years.
Mrs. Vass enjoyed bowling and was an avid collector of different “collectibles”.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her children, Roger Vass of Delano, MN, Robert Inderlin of Palm City, Florida, Lisa Vass of Northbridge, Michelle Vass of Norfolk and Brenda Nolte of Mansfield.
She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Stumm of Sylvania, Ohio and sister, Virginia Salois of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St.in Franklin at 8:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
