FITCHBURG-Rita L. Fournier, 83, of Fitchburg, died Saturday, January 24th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester. She leaves her brother, Robert Fournier of Fitchburg; two sisters, Irene J. Reardon of Worcester and Doris Bissonette of London, Ohio; her caretakers, Joan H. Recore and Carolyn L. Bourget, both of Worcester; and numerous nephews and nieces. Her sister, Florence St. Cyr predeceased her.
She was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of J. Wilfred and Louise (Sarasin) Fournier. Ms. Fournier was a 1943 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School. She was employed by AT&T for 47 years as a manager until her retirement in 1989. Ms. Fournier was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church, Leominster and the Fitchburg Art Museum. She enjoyed travelling.
The funeral is Tuesday, January 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00AM in the funeral home.
