Obituary

WORCESTER - Karen S. Krock, 55, of 17 Havelock Road died Sunday, May 18 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after a short illness.

She leaves a son Gunther E. Shih of Honolulu, HI; a daughter Juliette E. Shih of Marlboro; her mother Sally (Aronovitz) Krock of Worcester; three brothers Ron Krock of Paxton, Bruce Krock of Orlando, FL and Jeff Krock of Apopka, FL; several nieces and nephews; her former husband Frank Shih of New York City, New York. She was born in Worcester daughter of Ralph Krock. She graduated from Becker and Worcester State College.

Ms. Krock was a nurse in Worcester for 10 years at various Nursing Homes and at the Visiting Nurse Association. She was also a Holistic Healer.

She was a member of the Self Realization Fellowship and Boston Mediation Group. Ms. Krock was a poineer in the field of public health. She was a leading spokesperson in the fight to keep Worcester Water Flouride Free.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 6 PM in the Tower Hill Botanical Garden, 11 French Drive, Boylston. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Audobon Society, 414 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA 01604.
