Obituary

Ruby May (Greene) Wyllie, 79 of Franklin died January 18 at Milford Regional Medical Center with her family at her side after a valiant fight against cancer. She was the wife of the late Walter S. Wyllie Sr. for 48 years until his death in 1995.
Born in Norfolk, December 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Carlton and Elizabeth (Flannery) Greene, Mrs. Wyllie was educated in Norfolk and Walpole, graduating from Walpole High School in 1947.
She later graduated in 1982 as an LPN, with the final graduating class of Pondville Cancer Hospital.
Mrs. Wyllie was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years to which she was the Worthy Matron five times. She was a member of the Franklin VFW Post 3402 Ladies Auxiliary and the Friends of Franklin Elders Senior Quilters.
She enjoyed her family, quilting, friends, her Winter home in Florida and Summer home in Onset.
She is survived by her children, Walter S. Wyllie Jr. of Franklin, Wayne E. Wyllie of Norton, Mark S. Wyllie of Franklin, Judith W. Bucchanio of Franklin and the late Maynard G. Wyllie and his widow, Patty Wyllie of Franklin.
She leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also leaves one sister, Elizabeth “Beth Ann” Slater of Storrs, CT and the late Rosemary Slater.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 1:00 p.m.
Calling hours will be on Friday, January 30 from 5-8 p.m.
