James F. Buckley "Ace" of East Bridgewater died suddenly in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston January 13, 2009. He was 69. James was born in Syracuse, NY son of the late Mary C. (Leary) and James W. Buckley. Ace was raised and educated in Bridgewater. He had lived in East Bridgewater the past 43 years where he moved from Bridgewater He was a talented left handed high school pitcher and after high school joined the Air Force. Mr. Buckley was a Sergeant on the East Bridgewater Police Force retireing after 30 years of service to the towns of Bridgewater and East Bridgewater.He was also the East Bridgewater police prosecutor at the Brockton Court House. Ace was the past president of the Bridgewater Historical Society a member of the Plymouth Genealogical Society. He was the father of Mary Ann MacDissi of NB, Katherine E. Buckley and James P. Buckley both of East Bridgewater. Brother of Joseph A. of AZ, Jerry C. of Ohio and Sally Buckley O'Leary of Boston. Grandfather of Cederic J. Mergatroid. Memorial Visitation Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street (Rte 18) Bridgewater. Graveside Service Thursday at 11:30 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
