Manuel P. Furtado, age 85. Widower of Alice (Amaral) Furtado and son of the late Antone & Mary (J. Souza)Furtado. Passed away Jan. 18, 2009. He was a resident of Fall River and Somerset. A former owner of Furtado’s T.V. and later retired from Sylvannia.
He was a 1st. Lt. in the Army Air Corp. A Bombardier/Navigator on B-24(Liberators) stationed in Mandoria, Italy.
He is survived by 5 Children: Richard Furtado of Boca Raton, FL, Steven Furtado of Olathe, KS, Patricia A. Oliveira of Berkley, Caroline M. Dorais of Somerset, and Donna Furtado of N. Dartmouth. 3 Sisters: Agnes Correia & Evelyn Hubert both of Fall River, and Rita Jean of San Diego, CA. 2 deceased brothers: Edward Furtado of Fall River & Antone Furtado of Orlando, Florida. 7 Grandchildren. 6 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Friday at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11 A.M. Interment in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 P.M.
