Mrs. Kathleen U. Jensen, 87, formerly of 51 Glen Road, Gorham, NH, passed away on Sunday January 18, 2009 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Old Orchard Beach, ME on January 27, 1921 the daughter of Charles and Helen M. (Clark) Day. She moved to Lancaster in 1948 and moved to Gorham shortly after. She had been employed, along with her husband, for Community Oil for many years. They also ran the Sandwich Villa, presently Saladino’s Restaurant, for several years and she later worked at Welsh’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Woman’s Club for many years. She loved playing golf, cards and Bingo. She was very talented at quilting, knitting and rug braiding. She took great pride in her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Members of the family include 1 daughter Kathy Keene of Waterville, ME; 1 son Dennis Jensen and wife Linda of Gorham, NH; 1 daughter-in-law Fran Fritzche Jensen of Westbrook, ME; 5 grandchildren Christopher Keene of Cambridge, MA, Pattie Garson and husband Greg of Gorham, ME, Chrissie Herbert and husband Jeff of Westbrook, ME, Eric Jensen and Sam Jensen of Gorham, NH; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Neal Jensen and a son Peter Jensen.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 31, 2009 at 12:30 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Gorham High School Dollars for Scholars Fund or to the Coos County Nursing Home Activity Fund.
