ELEBE, JOHN K., 87 of Teaneck, died on Sunday, January 18, 2009. Beloved husband of Clarine C. Elebe (nee Reid). Devoted father of Diane Dara Williams and her husband James and Richard K. and his wife Diane Elebe. Loving son of the late Allean and Moses Eleble. Dear brother of the late Rebecca, Ruth, Jack, Richard Eleble and Benjamin Gains. Loving grandfather of Terrence Atkins Elebe, Jazm’n Elebe, David Watley and Omar Williams.
Before retiring John was a Director of Recreation for the NYC Department of Parks and an Assistant Principle for the NYC Board of Education. He was a member of the AARP, Harlem YMCA, Brooklyn College Guidance Society, United Federation of Teachers and International Association of Basketball Officials.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22nd from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
