Velon H. “Bill” Taylor, 81, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born March 23, 1927 to the late Edward and Ellen “Tess” Black Taylor in Calhoun County, MS. He was a self-employed Business Owner and a member of the First Christian Church in Water Valley, MS. Bill served in the United States Army.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 10 until 11 AM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The graveside service will follow the visitation period at 11 AM in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Water Valley, MS with Dr. Joe Walker, M.D. officiating.
He is survived by his loving and faithful companion, Dorris Massie of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Debra Iris Taylor of Amite, LA; three sons, Ronald Bruce Taylor (Elaine) of Hammond, LA, Billy Keith Taylor (Jeanann) of Hammond, LA, and Edward Taylor of Memphis, TN; one step-daughter, Belinda Patterson of Germantown, TN; one sister, Ruby Nell Taylor Cardin (Harold) of Water Valley, MS; one Brother, James Taylor (Roma Dell) of Water Valley, MS; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
