Flora R. (Joseph) Tapper, 87, of Fairhaven died January 17, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Charles J. Tapper, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Christo and Dora (Kostani) Joseph, she lived in Fairhaven most of her life.
Mrs. Tapper was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
She was formerly employed as a secretary with the Fairhaven Public School System for many years before retiring as a bookkeeper in the Fairhaven Superintendent's Office.
Flora enjoyed spending time with her loving family including her daughter Mary Ann Tapper of Jamestown, NC and her children Melanie Minior Angel and Megan Minior; her son Charles J. Tapper, III of Fairhaven, his wife Louise and their children Elizabeth, Caitlin and Matthew; her son Christopher J. Tapper of Fairhaven, his wife Diane and their children Jennifer (Tapper) Richards, Kimberly and Julia; her sister Sophie Izyk of New Bedford; her niece Christine M. Gaspar of Mattapoisett and her husband Robert; several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late T. "Min" Joseph.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Wednesday, January 21st at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church Fairhaven at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, January 20th from 4-8 PM.
