BERKLEY – Daniel Nunes of Berkley died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston on Jan. 15, 2009.
He was 80.
Born in Berkley, he was the son of the late Edward V. and Mary (DePonte) Nunes.
Educated in Berkley and Dighton schools, he was a graduate of the former Dighton High School.
An Army veteran of WW II, he later worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 23 years, retiring many years ago.
He leaves a brother, Edward Nunes of Taunton; 3 sisters, Delores Nunes of Attleboro, Elsie Beloli and Shirley Oliveira, both of Brooksville, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Gilbert Nunes, Mary Nunes, Hilda Briggs, and Lorraine Pinheiro.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, Jan. 21st from 4 to 7 p.m.
Burial will be private at the be at the Mass. National VA Cemetery in Bourne. www.silvafuneralhome.com
