Obituary

SALEM- Stanislaw "Stanley" Mieszczanski, 68, of Salem, died Saturday morning, May 17, 2003, in the Salem Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Kadysz, Poland, he was the son of the late Michal and Ludwika (Hrynaszkiewicz) Mieszczanski.

He had been a resident of Salem since coming from Poland to the United States in 1965.

Prior to his retirement due to illness, he worked for many years as a carpenter. He was employed by George Gardner Construction of Peabody and later by Sawicki Construction of Salem.

Mr. Mieszczanski was a parishioner of the St John The Baptist Church, Salem, and an active member of the Polish community. His hobbies included fishing and gardening.

He is survived by four sisters, Feliksa “Phyllis” Mieszczanski, Leokadia “Laura” Mieszczanski, Maria Mikulewicz and Wladyslawa “Alice” Burba, all of Salem, one brother, Jozef Mieszczanski of Salem, eleven nieces and nephews and several other relatives. He was predeceased by one sister, Franciszka Prochorski and one brother, Feliks Mieszczanski.

His funeral will be held Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 8:45 AM from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at the St John The Baptist Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 7 to 9 PM, and Wednesday, 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Burial is in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
