Rose (Nastor) Kalanta, 97 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Thursday morning at a North Andover nursing home.
Born in Auburn, Massachusetts on August 26, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Tomolonis) Nastor and received her education in the Auburn schools.
Mrs. Kalanta moved to Lowell from Worcester in the 1960’s living here until she went to live with her daughter in Methuen. She was a former communicant of Holy Trinity Polish Church while living in Lowell.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Montanez of Methuen; a son, Daniel Kalanta of Methuen; six grandchildren, Lisa Sorenson of Derry, N.H., Lori, Christino and Tom Montanez, Jay and Dana Kalanta all of Methuen and a sister Josephine Rutkauskas of Worcester.
