Obituary

Methuen, MA. – Ann E. “Annie” (McGowan) Egan, 50, died Thursday January 15, 2009 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Ann was born in Methuen, the daughter of the late Philip, Sr. and Patricia (Robertson) McGowan.
For 15 years and in the 1980’s Ann was employed with the Andover Jade Chinese Restaurent, and for 24 years had been employed with the Internal Revenue Service.
She was a communicant of St. Monica’s Church, and among many interests loved visiting the beach, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Ann was always concerned of others, and touched everyone who knew her with her kind heart and warm smile. She was a loving mom and wife who cherished quality time with her family.
In her later years, Ann’s interests were following her son Kyles involvement in sports and supporting her husbands efforts coaching Methuen Little League and youth sports.
A longtime Methuen resident; Ann is survived by her husband of 29 years William G. Egan, two sons William G. Jr., and Kyle R. Egan both of Methuen, three brothers Philip J. McGowan, Jr. of Florida, Edward J. and his wife Tori McGowan of Hopkington, and Jack and his fiancée Victoria Koch of Haverhill, one niece Tiffany McGowan, Mother and Father-inlaw John and Carmela “Camille” Egan of Atkinson, NH, as well as several aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Monica’s Church with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday from 4-8. P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
