Dan Davies Johnson, 85, of Ravenel, widower of Lottie Mae Taylor Johnson died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Roper Hospital.
Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2 o’clock at The First Baptist Church of Ravenel Cemetery, Hwy. 165, Ravenel.
Mr. Johnson was born December 4, 1923 in Fenwick Island, Colleton County, SC, son of the late Levi Manley Johnson and Shelly Benton Johnson. He attended Charleston County Schools. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was self employed as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ravenel.
Surviving are:
1 daughter: Lillian J. Atkinson of Ravenel
3 sons: Kenneth Eugene Johnson of Dunlap, TN, Dan “Rubin” Johnson of Red Lodge, Montana and Jack A. Johnson of Clarksville, TN.
1 brother: Phillip Ervin Johnson of Mississippi
10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren
