New Bedford – Marie Theresa Phaneuf age 73 died Thursday January 15, 2009 at St Luke’s Hospital unexpectedly. She was the wife of Leo Phaneuf of New Bedford. Survivors include 2 daughters Deborah Houle and her husband Phillip of New Bedford, Tammy Spindola and her husband Glenn of New Bedford, 7 grandchildren Christy, Christopher, Joseph, Hannah, Felisha, Melissa, and Marybeth, and 7 great-grandchildren; Marie was the sister of Veronica Medeiros and Beverly Cabral both of New Bedford, and the late Wilfred Gibeault. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Phaneuf was the daughter of the late Ethel (Morin) and Wilfred Gibeault, she was born in Miami, Florida but lived all her life in New Bedford.
Mrs. Phaneuf’s Funeral will be Tuesday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St John the Baptist Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M.
