Obituary

Robert R. Courtois, 74, of Manchester, died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 16, 2009 after a brief illness..
He was born in Biddeford, ME, April 20, 1934, and was the son of Raymond Courtois and Germaine (Fortin) Giroux.
For many years, Robert worked as the terminal manager for Hemingway Transportation. During his retirement, he worked as a security guard at the Elliot Hospital and for Enterprise Car rental.
He was never one to sit idle. He enjoyed puttering around the house and always managed to stay busy. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and as a hockey fan, became a fan of his wife’s alma mater, the University of Maine Black Bears. He will be remembered as a good husband, a loving father, and grandfather.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his wife of nearly 50 years, Jacqueline (Boutin) Courtois of Manchester; 2 daughters, Ann Blaney and her husband, Larry, of Manchester, and Carol Kazazis and her husband, Demetrios, of Candia; a son, Bruce Courtois and his wife Debbie, of Manchester; 3 grandchildren, Sean Courtois, Jason Gagnon and Chelsey Gagnon; his mother, Germaine Giroux of ME; a brother, Richard Giroux and his wife, Priscille of Biddeford, ME; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; 2 brothers-in-law, Roger Laberge and his wife, Teresa, of NY and Larry Laberge and his wife, Alice, of MA. He was predeceased by his step father, Rene Giroux.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. Pius X Church, Candia Rd. Manchester.
Spring burial took place in Lewiston, ME.
