WORCESTER____Former Solidarity organizer Leszek Jozef Twarog, 55, of Worcester, died Tuesday January 13,2009 in Biddeford, Maine due to injuries sustained in a car crash.
Born in Jaslo, Poland to Maria (Faryniarz) and Jozef Twarog, Leszek graduated from Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. Krola Stanislawa Leszczynskiego. Within a few years of leaving school he soon became involved with the local Solidarity movement in then communist Poland.
Mr. Twarog leaves his mother, Maria of Jalso, Poland, his wife Barbara of Worcester, daughter, Agnieszka Jannace of Bayside, New York, a son Szymon of Lynn and brothers Zbignev of Auburn and Janusz of Jaslo, Poland.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 17 at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Visitation will be held in Henry-Dirsa Funeral Service, 33 Ward Street, on Friday, January 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
