Obituary

NORTH BROOKFIELD____Eileen C. (Morrissey) Olihovik, 87, of North Brookfield, died Tuesday January 13, 2009 in her home.

She leaves her husband, Alexander M. Olihovik, a daughter, Mary Lavallee of Worcester; two sisters, Nancy Beaudet of Cape Cod and Dorothy Morrissey of North Brookfield; a grandson, Eric Rosenblad of Barre; two great-grandchildren, one nephew and ten nieces. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister, Edmond Morrissey and Mary Mahan. She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Michael and Bridget (Comyn) Morrissey and has lived in North Brookfield since 1978.

Mrs. Olihovik was a nurse aide 16 years for St. Vincent Hospital and retired several years ago. Previously she worked as a seamstress. She graduated from Worcester Girl’s Trade High School.

Eileen was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She volunteered for Warm Up America which provides afghans for soldiers, veterans, the homeless and the elderly. She was a member of St. John Church, Worcester.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. A calling hour will be held Saturday, January 17 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care Network, Inc, Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, Ma, 01608 or to the Ryan Collette Scholarship, in care of St. Peter – Marian Jr. Sr. High School, 751 Grove St, Worcester, Ma 01605.
