Obituary

WORCESTER-Ivan F. “Ike” Ostiguy, 69, of Worcester, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 14th. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Patricia A. (Dalton) Ostiguy; a daughter, Karen P. Norton and her husband Joel of Leicester; two sons, Steven J. Ostiguy and his wife Donna and Dana R. Ostiguy and his wife Yen-Bao, all of Worcester; a brother, Lloyd Ostiguy of Florida; two sisters, Olive Pitz of Auburn and Rita Humphrey of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Scott Stanikmas, Bobbie-Jo Dansereau, Emily, Michael and Joseph Ostiguy, Diana Ostiguy, Amanda and Clayton Ostiguy, and Matthew Welch. He was predeceased by a son, Joel S. Ostiguy in 2000 and three brothers, Roland, Maurice and Leo Ostiguy.

He was born in Verdun, Canada on April 6, 1939, the son of Josephat and Mary Olive (Sheehan) Ostiguy and was a truck driver for Standard Fruit & Produce for many years. Mr. Ostiguy later worked at Clark University as a custodian, retiring in 1996. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Ivan played softball for many years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The funeral is Saturday, January 17th with a service at 11:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday, January 16th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Home Hospice, 631 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
