TEWKSBURY - Frederick J. Kelly, age 82, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell after a long period of declining health. He was the husband of Anna F. (Feran) with whom he had celebrated 63rd wedding anniversary this past June 28th.
He was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on August 1, 1926, one of ten children of the late Michael and Catherine (McKenna) Kelly. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1965, and had lived in Tewksbury.
He retired as a driver for the MacLellan Concrete Company in 1988, and was a former member of the Teamsters Local 49, AFL-CIO.
As a resident of Tewksbury, he was a communicant of St. William's Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Lita Kelly of Lowell, Michael Kelly of Tewksbury; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy (Kelly) and her husband Martin Wood of Bow, NH; three grandsons, Philip Kelly of Lowell, Ryan Reynolds of Bow, NH, and Joseph Reynolds and his fiance Jessica Cabral of Attleboro, MA; a great granddaughter, Aubrie Mae Reynolds; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Graham of Ontario, Canada; a brother and sister-in-law, John "Jack" and Theresa Kelly of Winnipeg, Canada.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, January 17, in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38), Tewksbury followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. At his request visiting hours were omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Oblate Father's Infirmary Fund, 486 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
