In Taunton, January 9, 2009 Mary (Sarkes) Faidell wife of the late Joseph Faidell died suddenly at Marion Manor Nursing Home at the age of 91. Born and educated in New Bedford, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Thomas) Sarkes. Mary lived in the Taunton community since 1948 where she worked for Pine Manufacturing in Taunton and Assonet and also the Taunton Nightwear Company. Mary was a member of the American Lebanese Veterans Auxiliary. She loved cake decorating, sewing, knitting and especially loved being with her grandchildren. Mary leaves her children Josephine Almeida of Taunton, William Faidell of Taunton and George Faidell of Milford, MA; her serviving siblings are Barbara Gallagher of Raynham, John Sarkes of New Bedford and the late Abraham, George and Louis Sarkes; her grandchildren Edward Almeida, Thomas Faidell, William Faidell, Michael Faidell, Kelly Wolf; her great grandchildren Anna, Noah and Jacob Faidell. Mary also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday January 13th at 10 am. Funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton at 11 am. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-7 pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
