Richard Proulx Lockwood, 67, of Laconia passed away peacefully at his home on January 9, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Dianna; his daughter Jennifer Lockwood-Shabat and her husband Gene and daughters Katia and Adianna of Falls Church VA; his son Chris and his wife Shannon of Concord NH.
He grew up in Wakefield, MA but spent his summers in Alton Bay on Lake Winnipesauke where he enjoyed many outdoor recreational activities. He was an avid skier and outdoor adventurist with his like-minded buddies.
After serving as a Navy Corpsman for four years in Vietnam, he graduated from the Dartmouth MEDEX program as a Physicians Assistant in 1972. He was employed in that capacity for many years at Orthopedic Professional Association working with Drs. Garger and Ettelson. He later retired from White Ribbon Bottled Water in 2005, and during his retirement he enjoyed his association with Whittemore’s Flower Shop.
In his retirement years, he could often be found golfing at Mojalaki Golf Club and Pheasant Ridge and in inclement weather at Funspot playing virtual golf. His gift for gab will be missed by family and friends.
Calling hours were from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2008 at Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. He was buried with full military honors at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen during a private family service.
