ABRAMS, Mary Louise, 74, of Hackensack and formerly of Teaneck, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 4th. She is survived by her husband Allan, her five children Sioux, William, Lisa, Robert and Margaret, her seven grandchildren, her three step- daughters, seven step-grandchildren and countless friends. Mary Lou had a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Columbia University and was the director of the Paramus Public Library. She served as president of the NJ Library Association and Bergen County Cooperative Library System. Mary Lou ran numerous literacy programs and book groups to help pass along her love of literature. She loved knitting and music and was a long time member of the St. Anastasia's choir. She was an extremely intelligent and kind hearted woman who always found the best in people. Her ever present and radiate smile as well as her beautiful spirit will be greatly missed. Her funeral mass will be offered at St. Anastasia's RC Church in Teaneck on January 24th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mary Louise Abrams Scholarship awarded by BCCLS or the Hospice Organization.
