Pauline N. (Desourdi) White
West Boylston
Pauline N. (Desourdi) White, 86 died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Boylston. She leaves her son, Russell White and his wife Rolinda of West Boylston; three grandchildren, Diane White of Springfield, Dawn White of Attleboro, and April White of West Boylston. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her best friend of over 50 years, Marion Bundza of Worcester.

Pauline was born in Worcester, daughter of the late David and Mabel (Mores) Desourdi and was the eldest of three siblings. She was predeceased by her sister Thelma Stasinos of Chicago and her brother Freeland “Dave” Desourdi of Worcester.

For many years Pauline worked as a waitress in Worcester’s restaurants most notably Charles Restaurant on Millbury St. and The Cypress Room on Main St. Her life revolved around family and friends. In the years before her health began to fail, she found comfort in volunteering at the Green Island Food Bank.

There were no calling hours. She will be buried beside her beloved grandson, “Yanik” in High Plains Cemetery on May 2, 2009 at 11:00am. Reverend Bascom of the Oakdale Methodist Church will officiate at the graveside memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oakdale Methodist Church, North Main Street, West Boylston, MA 01583. Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. is directing the arrangements.
