Obituary

David N. Shulman M.D., age 89, a resident of Fall River for the last 25 years, passed away Sunday January 4, 2009 at home. He was the loving husband of Dianne (Weinreb) Shulman. Born in Revere, MA the son of the late Phillip and Ida (Snow) Shulman. Dr. Shulman was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict as a Major in the Medical Corps.

In the 1940’s Dr. Shulman worked for the U.S. Dept. of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, where he was a physician for several Indian Reservations in Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska. Prior to retiring in 1982, he was the Chief of the Anesthesiology Department at St. Anne’s Hospital. After retiring, Dr. Shulman performed physicals for the I.L.G.W.U. and also served as the Bristol County Medical Examiner.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 children: Michelle & Derek Lords of New York City, NY; Lester & Angela Shulman of Warwick, RI; and Wendi & Jeff Shulman of Elk Grove, CA. A granddaughter: Mira Shulman; a brother: Marvin Shulman of NY; a sister: Bella Gennis of Naples, FL; and several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Carl Shulman.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 502 Bedford Street, Fall River, MA 02720. Burial will be private.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
