Obituary

DRACUT - Robert A. Trott, 82, a longtime resident of Dracut, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly, Monday January 5th at his home. He was the husband of Mary E. (Flanagan) Trott, to whom he was married for 58 years.

He was born in Chelmsford on March 9, 1926, and was a son of the late Karl R. and Flora B. (Luke) Trott. He received his education in Tewksbury schools.

Mr. Trott served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator for 55 years of Trott Brothers Tree Service and then Allan Sign and Crane, both in Dracut. In his early years he worked as a photographer for weddings and school pictures.

In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, especially making whirligigs and building sheds. He also enjoyed listening to country music.

In addition to his wife, his is survived by a son Robert A. Trott Jr. of Dracut; four daughters, Kathleen Needham and her husband Michael of Chester, NH, Linda "Dee Dee" Jurgelewicz and her husband John of Danielson, CT, Nancy Curley of Dracut, and Lisa Reeney and her husband Michael of Lowell; six grandchildren, Heather Jurgelewicz and Eric Jurgelewicz, both of Danielson, CT, Kathryn Reeney and her husband Jonathan of Tyngsboro, Jeremy Curley and his wife Marlena of Arlington, TX, Jessica Curley of Dracut, and Matthew Reeney of Lowell; four great grandchildren, Kassandra Curley, Jeremy Curley Jr., Jessica Curley, and Allison Reeney; five brothers, Melvin Trott, Roger Trott, Warren Trott, Howard Trott, and Kenneth Trott; a sister Betty Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Karl "Boydy" Trott, Roland Trott, and Ivy Conlon.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. For online condolences please use the icon below.
