Judith Dianne "Judie" Brown, 65, of New Bedford, died Saturday January 3, 2009 at the Royal of Fairhaven Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ormond W. C. Brown and Beatrice M. (Taphilias) Dolinsky, she lived most of her life in Dartmouth before returning to New Bedford. She was the granddaughter of the late James Wilson and Jennie Mason (Churchill) Brown of Fairhaven and Mabel Jane (Tripp) and Paul George Taphilias of New Bedford.
Ms. Brown was formerly employed as a case worker for the Massachusetts Office for Children, as a secretary for Attorneys Paul Hamel, Phillip Heller and David Jorge, and by AFC Cable Systems.
In her youth she was a member of the Parker Club from 1949-1962 and participated in the club's conferences held on Star Island in New Hampshire. She was a member of the Dartmouth High School Music Association from 1979-1983.
She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Survivors include a daughter, Melanie-lynne Marcotte and her husband Roger of Dartmouth, as well as her lifelong friends, Linda Barboza and her husband Louis C. of Dartmouth, Bernadine Sachetti and her husband Thomas of Rochester, and M. Clara Grillo wife of the late James T. Grillo of Dartmouth, and their families respectively.
