OBITUARY
Fitchburg
Hope "Hopey" (Ellis) Navin, 81, of Fitchburg, died Tuesday December 23, at
the Golden Living Center.
Hope was born in Newton September 9, 1927, the daughter of John and
Hazel (Booth) Ellis. She came to Fitchburg at an early age and graduated
from Fitchburg High School in 1945 and was a Gold F student. She was
employed as a moulder at E. B. Kingman in Leominster. Before then she
also worked as a band saw operator at the former Charlton Furniture Co.
She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She devoted many hours
as a volunteer in the food pantry of the church as well as the nursery
school.
Hope was an avid Republican and loved all the New England sports teams.
Hope leaves her son John Navin Jr. and his wife Maura of Shirley and her
daughter Carol Navin of Fitchburg. Six grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her husband, John Navin Sr.
died February 12, 1985. Her daughter Sharon Lohler died in 2001.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 10, at 11:00 A.M. in
Highland Baptist Church 19 Cedar St. Fitchburg. Burial will be in the
spring at West cemetery in Ashby. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blodssom St. is
assisting the family.
