Obituary

Roger O. Fournier, 64, of Merrimack, died January 3, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born in Manchester, April 1, 1944, and was the son of Oscar and Annette (Veilleux) Fournier.
Roger was a graduate of St. Marie High School, class of 1962. He immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Following his tour of duty, Roger became a member of Local 131 of the Steam Fitters Union. For many years he worked as a plumber for Don Lachance and later for Johnson Control. Following his retirement he managed Dan’s super shell in Nashua.
IN HIS LIFE: Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member and past president of NH Bass Federation. It was through the friendships he made in this club that Roger was kept current of club activities, as well as the Red Sox and NE Patriots.
The last few years have not been easy for Roger, and the family would like to acknowledge the help and support he received from family and friends especially the Manchester VA, Manchester Dialysis Center, Comfort Keepers caregivers, and the Manchester Disabled Veterans.
He will be remembered as a happy guy who loved to tell a story, or pull a prank. He took life one day at a time, and will be missed by family and friends.
Family members include; his mother; a son; a grandson; 3 sisters, Madeleine and her husband Gaetan Valcourt, , Joanne and Richard Daigle, , Denise and Jack Plante, all of Manchester, Christine and Mark Bilodeau, of New Boston; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his faithful dog Shelby.
Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 o’clock at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. corner of North, Manchester.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, January 10, 2009 at The Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelly St. Manchester.
