Thomas F. Violette, Sr., 76, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, January 2, 2009. Mr. Violette was born in Amesbury, MA on January 15, 1932, son of the late Louis and Mabel (Cole) Violette. He grew up in Seabrook, NH, served with the U.S. Army, and was a decorated Korean war veteran. He married Frances Cappello in 1959. Mr. Violette worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing and walking his dogs. An avid history buff, he enjoyed traveling and reading. Mr. Violette was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances (Cappello) Violette of Londonderry, two daughters, Lisa M. DiBerardinis and her husband John of Kingston, NH, Deborah J. Pierce and her husband Bruce of Derry, NH, a son, Thomas F. Violette, Jr. of Londonderry, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Rose Souther.
Visiting hours were held 4-8pm Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Spring burial will take place in Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry.
