Andover, MA - John “Terry” Sullivan, 78, of Andover, Massachusetts and Ft. Pierce, Florida, died on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Terry was born in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1947. He was the son of late John and Eva (Hyde) Sullivan. He was the 2nd generation owner of the family business, Sullivan Ceiling Co., until his retirement in 1994. Terry was an avid antique car and bike enthusiast, and an active member of several antique car clubs including: Granite State, Early Ford V-8, Minute Man Model A Club, North Shore Old Car Club, Cadillac, Pals, and High Wheelman of New England, as well as Treasure Coast Vintage Car Club and the 5-6-7 Chevy Club of Florida. Terry was also actively involved in the Lawrence High School and Wetherbee School reunion committees.
Devoted Husband and family man, he held a close relationship with his children and grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia, and their five children: Terrance “Terry” Sullivan Jr. and wife, Susan (Paulinca) Sullivan of Derry, New Hampshire; Kathleen Sullivan-Dube and her husband, Richard Dube of Andover; Mary Lou Sullivan of Andover; Thomas G. Sullivan and his wife, Penny (Lepage) Sullivan of Marion, Massachusetts; Timothy A. Sullivan, and his wife, Cindy (Garland) Sullivan of Andover. He also leaves his sister, Ann Sullivan Maloney and husband, Richard Maloney, of Andover; Brother James F. Sullivan and wife, Maureen of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; Sister-in-law, Priscilla Sullivan of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Loving grandfather of Kristin and Richard “Chad” Dube; Nicole and Victoria Sullivan; Heather, Kelly and Laura Sullivan; and Patricia and Ann Sullivan. Pre-deceased by brother, William J. Sullivan.
ARRANGEMNTS: Family and friends may call on Monday, January 5, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday morning, January 6 at 10 o’clock at St. Augustine’s Church in Andover with burial to follow in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
