Obituary

Matthew Allen Adey, life long resident of Andover and beloved son of David A. and Stephanie M. (Luciak) Adey, died unexpectedly at his home on December 30, 2008. He was 25 years old.

He was born on November 18, 1983. Mr. Adey was a graduate of Andover High School class of 2002 and Plymouth State University in New Hampshire class of 2007. He graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Matthew was very adventurous, traveling extensively around the U.S. In 2005, he worked a summer at Denali National Park in Alaska for a resort hotel. He also was employed by Waterville Valley Ski Resort. Matthew was an avid mountain backpacker and hiked the Presidential Range as well as parts of the Appalachian Trail. Matthew traveled to Europe and skiied the Swiss and Italian Alps. He also loved to play the guitar and piano.

He will be greatly missed by his parents David A. and Stephanie M. (Luciak) Adey of Andover, one brother; David M. Adey of Tewsbury an aunt Donna and her husband Dan Kelly of Florida, an uncle Paul Oliver of Texas and numerous cousins in Maryland, Indiana, Texas and California.

His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett's Pond Road, Andover, Monday, January 5, 2009, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Sunday, January 4, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover.
