TAUNTON – Bruce P. Velon, 59, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at his home.
He was the husband of Dianne (Jasnocha) Velon, to whom he was married for over 37 years.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Dr. Bruce P. and Ruth (Miller) Velon Selleck.
He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He was also a My Brother’s Keeper volunteer.
A HVAC technician, he worked for Bay State Gas for over 35 years, before retiring 5 years ago.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves 2 daughters, Angela Tollis (husband John), and Amy Anderson (husband Paul); a son, Brian P. Velon (wife Robin); 6 sisters, Diane Mattos (husband Daniel), Carole Krockta (husband Peter), Lenore Wilkins (husband Robert), Patricia Grant (husband Edward), Janet Velon, and Elizabeth Tomase (husband Frank); 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Whittenton St., Taunton (formerly St. Jacques Church)on Tuesday, Jan. 6th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
