NEW BEDFORD — Mary Louise (Brightman) Tripp, age 78 years, of Dartmouth, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ernest M. Tripp.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Ralph and Caroline (Cochrane) Brightman, she lived in this community all of her life and had attended Grace Church. For many years she was employed by Payne Cutlery until retiring.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Souza of Fairhaven; her son, Ernest M. Tripp of Florida; and two sisters, Marion Brightman of New Bedford and Rosamond Riley of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., NB on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. Her service will be at 9 A.M., at the funeral home on Wednesday followed by burial in Rural Cemetery.
