Obituary

Robert S. Wilson, 87 of Medford, died Sunday after a brief illness.

Born in Winthrop, he lived most of his life in Medford and was the son of the late Marguerite (Saunders) and James Wilson. He was a Letter Carrier, for 40 years with the U.S. Postal Service in the Union Sq. area of Somerville and retired in 1992. Robert served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. A member of Dante Club, Somerville and the DAV Commander’s Club. Beloved husband of Gertrude (Fennelly) Wilson. Brother of James Wilson of Stoneham, Dorothy Morton of Medford, and the late Marguerite Domenicis and Ida Flemming. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Robert’s name to the Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice, 178 Savin Street, Suite 300, Malden, MA 02148.
