Carmela Venne, 85, of Manchester, died December 27, 2008 at the Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester, on May 5, 1923 and was the daughter of Gaetano and Mary (Funari) Puglisi and has resided in Manchester all of her life.
She attended Bakersville School and later worked many years as a Stitcher for Stitching Inc. She was a volunteer at the Elliot Hospital and also was a member of the Ladies guild at Blessed Sacrament Church where she helped make sleeping bags for the homeless.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Members of her family include her husband of over 60 years, Wilfrid Venne of Manchester; two sons, Albert Venne of Manchester and Wilfrid Venne of Barrington NH; a daughter, Mary Berger of Manchester; 6 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild and a brother Joseph Puglisi of Florida. She also leaves a beloved niece, Suzanne Cashin.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery 448 Donald St. Bedford, NH.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., assisted the family with arrangements.
