Antone Almeida of Bridgewater died December 24, 2008 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Antone was born, raised and educated in New Bedford son of the late Mary (Medeiros) and Antone Almeida. Antone was a police officer for the town of Bridgewater for many years and also worked for the Bridgewater Highway Department. Antone was always a hard worker, great family man who enjoyed bowling. He loved music and was also a drummer in his own band Clover that played locally for many years. He was a WWII Army Veteran and was a gunner SBD Dive Bomber. He is survived by his daughter Tara M. Stoher and her husband Greg of Bridgewater, Kerin and her family of Middleboro and Coleen A. Beane of Bridgewater. Grandfather of Lee, Matthew, Michael, Kathryn, Molly and Bethany. He is also 2 Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM in the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt.18) Bridgewater. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
