Obituary

William H. Wright, 82, passed away at his home in Malden on December 28th, 2008. He was born in Boston on October 16th, 1926 to his parents George E. and Marguerite (Killilea) Wright. William was raised and educated in Melrose. During World War II, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He made a career out of the Navy, retiring in 1966 after 21 years of Service. Upon his retirement, William became a Postman for the United States Postal Service. He spent over 20 years at his position delivering mail in South Boston and surrounding areas. For the past 41 years, he has made his home in Malden. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Malden, once serving as Treasurer for all of Middlesex County. He is also a member of VFW Post 2394 in Melrose. William is survived by his wife, Rosanna M. (Dolan) Wright; by his children, Catherine M. Sutton and her husband Robert of Winthrop, George E. Wright and his friend Susan of Malden, Deborah A. Bristol and her husband Michael of Virginia Beach, VA and Kimberly R. Hough and her husband William of Virginia Beach, VA; by his grandchildren, Sean, William, Adam, Nicholas, Robert and Julia Rose; and by his cousins, Mary Kiley of West Yarmouth and Lois Riley of Bremerton, WA . Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday December 31st at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 30th from 4-8 PM.
