FENDER, ARTHUR D.
Arthur D. Fender, 72, of Summerville, husband of Kathleen W. Fender, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at his residence.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, at 11 o’clock at Boone Hill United Methodist Church, 801 Boone Hill Road, Summerville. Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 30, at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock.
Mr. Fender was born May 5, 1936 in Harlan, Iowa, son of the late Trueman C. Fender and Ellen J. Fender. He graduated in 1954 from Silver City High School, Silver City, Iowa. He retired after combined service of 42 years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Boone Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors, including his wife of 51 years, Kathleen, are two daughters; Kathy F. Charpia (Royce) of Summerville, and Lois F. LeaMond of Manning, SC, one son; Arthur D. Fender, Jr. (Lynn) of Fork Union, VA, seven grandchildren; Bo Charpia, Elizabeth Charpia, Alan Pease, Caroline LeaMond, Katie LeaMond, Lauren Fender and Lindsay Fender, one brother; Clifford Fender, three sisters; Evelyn Cowan, Luella Franke and Edna Woodard and many nieces and nephews.
